Interim Child Protection Training

ACSQ Ministry is now subject to the Child Safe Organisations Act 2024, which has legalised the Ten Child Safe Standards and the Reportable Conduct Scheme. Consequently, we are in the process of building a new online Child Safety Training Program. In the interim, we have provided a temporary training webinar that outlines the requirements of the new legislation,  how to keep children safe and prevent harm, and finally, how to recognise abuse and report using the appropriate pathways. The interim training draws upon the ACSQ Child Safety Framework, which includes:

  • The Child Safety and Wellbeing Policy

  • The Child Safe Procedures Handbook

  • The Child and Youth Risk Management Strategy

  • The Code of Conduct for Ministry to Children

Information for those completing the online course

Thanks for the time and energy you give to our organisation! You belong to a group of over 7000 people who contribute through volunteer or professional work to the life and mission of the Anglican Church Southern Queensland. Each of us needs to undertake training to become (and remain) familiar with the Diocesan policies and procedures for the protection of children. Following the instructions of Diocesan Council, we must all do this training every three years.

The interim online training consists of one 40-minute video that will invite you to periodically pause and undertake various reflection activities.
