Parish Vacancies

  • Job Title: Parish Secretary

  • Employment Type: Permanent, Part time

  • Hours: Up to 20 hours per week

  • Location: Caboolture, QLD

We're looking for an organised, warm and capable administrator to be the welcoming first point of contact for our parish, keeping the office running smoothly and supporting the day-to-day life of our community.

About the Role:

  • Provide a warm reception, welcoming visitors and responding to enquiries in person, by phone and by email.

  • Manage incoming communications email, phone, voicemail and mail responding or forwarding as appropriate.

  • Carry out general administration: filing, record-keeping, photocopying and document preparation.

  • Maintain accurate parish records and support clergy and leadership with administrative tasks.

  • Prepare documents, service materials and parish communications using Microsoft Office.

  • Keep the office organised, well-stocked and running effectively.

  • Attend two Sunday services per month (one 8:00am and one 9:45am) to connect with parishioners.

  • Work collaboratively with clergy, wardens, parish council and volunteers.

About You:

  • Completed a Certificate III in Business Administration (or equivalent) as a minimum.

  • 1–2 years' experience in an administrative or reception role.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • A genuine people person — friendly, approachable and professional.

  • Presentable, with a strong customer-service focus.

  • Confident with Windows 11 and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • Discreet and trustworthy with sensitive and confidential information.

  • Successful candidates will be required to undergo pre-employment checks
